Teen Challenge Columbus Girls Academy
Hosts “Prepare for Impact” Teacher Training Conference
May 10th – May 12th, Teen Challenge Columbus Girls Academy is hosting “Prepare for Impact”, a Teacher Training Conference for staff members from Teen Challenge Campuses and similar programs. There are over 30 people in attendance. Presenters include Dave Batty, Allan Turley, and Greg Fisher - all members of the Curriculum Development team of Teen Challenge International.
At this conference Staff Members are being trained in our Group and Individual Bible/Life Skills Curriculum (PSNC and GSNC). A few topics being covered include: Lesson Planning, Creative Teaching Methods, Personal Goal setting, and Team Building.
Teen Challenge Columbus Girls Academy also recently had the privilege of having Dave Batty, a developer of the PSNC/GSNC curriculum, lead group sessions with our students using GSNC material entitled Anger and Personal Rights. A few student comments about the lessons learned in group are, “I learned not to let anger take control of my life”, “my emotions are not reliable”, “If we desire to change we can learn new habits and attitudes”, and “I learned not to let my thoughts control me”.
At Teen Challenge our desire is to collaborate, innovate and strive for continuous improvement. Training conferences assist our organization in staying true to its original purposes and mission, passing on and entrusting its rich heritage to future generations.

Teen Challenge Columbus Girls Academy Celebrates March 2010 Graduates
Teen Challenge Columbus Girls Academy has the honor of announcing 5 April graduates. The graduates’ families, Teen Challenge students and staff were in attendance (approximately 130 people) and bore witness to the great testimonies each graduate and family expressed. What an honor it was to see our students reconciled to God and their families. All graduates received a completion certificate recognizing the completion of the Teen Challenge Program as well a certificate acknowledging their achievements in our Bible/Life Skills Curriculum. Of our graduates this month 3 have earned their high school diplomas while attending Columbus Girls Academy. Our April Graduates have interests in pursuing education and careers in fields such as missions, optometry, nursing, and youth ministry. One of our April graduates will be staying on as an intern in our Emerging Leader’s program and will attend a Master’s Commission Program in September this year. Our graduates this month are also looking forward to joining their home churches in ministry to their community. To our April Graduates – Job well done, we are proud of you!
